What an incredible week of football for our school! Both the boys' and girls' teams competed in their blitz tournaments, showing amazing teamwork, determination, and skill.

We are so proud to share that both teams made it through the group stages and into the finals, playing their hearts out and doing absolutely fantastic! 🎉

Their hard work, sportsmanship, and team spirit were on full display, and every player should feel really proud of how well they did. They represented the school brilliantly and gave it their all right to the very end.

And this is just the beginning — more competitions are coming up in a few weeks, and we can't wait to see these amazing teams back in action!

Well done, everyone! 👏⚽

Seachtain na Gaeilge takes place next week.
We will celebrate our Irish culture by speaking our native language, explore Irish music and songs. Some classes will practice Irish dancing and we will have lots of craic agus Spraoi on Lá Glas. We will have our annual ceolchoirm on Friday where the children will all perform a song or poem they have learned.
Parents are welcome to come to the junior assembly on Friday where we will have some space set out for you. We can't do at senior assembly unfortunately but videos of performances will be up online.
There is a page on this website for Gaeilge and there are video and audio clips of some basic Irish phrases that you could learn and show your child that you can learn Gaeilge too ☘️🇮🇪

4th class attended Science Blast today. They did a project to find the best angle to launch a rocket, which would achieve the best travelling distance.the children (and teachers) worked really hard over the last few weeks. They had a wonderful day and they got to see loads of other schools projects. They represented our school superbly.
Well done everyone 🙌

Today is World Book Day and our school are reading the same book from junior infants to 6th. It's called 'After the Fall ' by Dan Santat.
It's about the aftermath of Humpty Dumpty falling from the Wall. He overcomes his fears and overcomes obstacles which is a great theme to explore with all ages. The book has wonderful illustrations which we will explore and we are looking forward to some great discussions with the children.

We had a beautiful Christmas celebration in the Mercy Secondary school last Tuesday.
The children sang Christmas songs depicting the story of the Nativity, while 1st class did a freeze frame of the nativity scene.
It reminded us all of the true meaning of Christmas and why we celebrate it.
