The children sang Christmas songs depicting the story of the Nativity, while 1st class did a freeze frame of the nativity scene.
It reminded us all of the true meaning of Christmas and why we celebrate it.
Later in the month, they worked with graffiti artists to create signage for the outside of the door, adding a unique touch to their design. They also had the chance to interview members of the school community, learning more about the history of Inchicore and the flats.
To round off the month, we had our school concert and they visited the rock climbing center in Tallaght, where they put their climbing skills to the test. It’s been a productive and engaging time for the class!🎄✨
Parents Christmas Crafts morning with Senior infants
We had a lovely morning with parents in senior infants this week where we made Christmas Wreaths. Both parents and children thoroughly enjoyed working together to create and decorate their festive wreaths.
For Science week we engaged in different experiments. The first one was to create a bridge that wouldn't collapse holding a copy book and the second one was making a parachute for an egg. The excitement in the classroom while participating in these experiments was electric!
We have Been very fortunate to be one of 7 schools to receive ‘Free to be me’ Little Library of approximately 100 books.
Children’s Books Ireland aim to build a love of reading. The ‘Free to be me’ project enables our students see themselves reflected in a book, as well as learning about the lives of others, who’s experiences and perspectives might be different from their own. Here is just a sample of the books. The little library is on display on corridor 3. Each child in our school will also receive a book of their own to take home before Christmas.Alongside this, the class were also learning about Thanksgiving and filled out their gratitude cups including everything that they are grateful for.
In history we are learning about Rosa Parks and some great discussions took place around segregation in America.
Lastly, we are busy practicing our songs for our Christmas concert which takes place in the church on the 17th of December.
