2nd Class have been very busy over the past few weeks. We have been enjoying DEAR time daily and our reading and writing has really improved because of this! We have been working on the strand of print in art and we have produced beautiful monoprints and contact prints based on the theme of the Arctic and Antarctic.
Last week Sr Agnes and Padraigín came into our class to help us make St Brigid’s Crosses and we really enjoyed learning how to make them. Take a look at some of the pictures below to see what we have been getting up to!
We were very excited on Wednesday when the FAI Cup came to our school! The children all got to see the cup and got their photograph taken! Some of the children would love to play with St Pat’s in the future so hopefully it won’t be the last time they get their hands on the cup!
The children in 2nd Class have been working really hard over the past few weeks. In the month of November they have been practising their skills of persuasion in their writing and they have been producing great writing. There is great work going on in the reading groups and the children are very engaged and excited about learning lots of new vocabulary.
In Maths we have been working on addition with regrouping and the children are getting on really well with this. They love playing Maths games and carrying out problem solving on a Friday. We have also been working on the measure of capacity and the children have been exploring containers that hold a litre, half litres and quarter litres.
We have also been doing lots of great art, learning about Italy in SESE and developing our football skills in PE.
Take a look at our slideshow below to see what we have been getting up to!
