The Garden Club had a wonderful day out at Bloom Garden Festival today. We were blessed with beautiful weather and the children were very excited. We visited the food stalls where we sampled lots of delicious Irish food.We then visited some show gardens and the educational area. We played dodge ball with Birdwatch Ireland and the Irish Coastguard gave us a great lesson about water safety. We even got to sit in their boat and saw how their life jackets inflated. It was very cool. One of the most interesting stands was the Blacksmiths forge. The Blacksmith spoke to is for ages and showed us how he made things from scratch using the fire, anvil and hammer. . We learned so much from him.
We saw many beautiful flowers and gardens which gave us some inspiration for next year. I think we will try to create a ‘postcard garden’ for next year.
