4th class paid a visit to Kilmainham jail on Friday last. They had a very informative tour of the jail and they were all fascinated by its history. They visited the chapel where Thomas Clarke married G race Giffor d before his execution, they visit the stone breakers yard, they saw some cells and saw where the 1916 leaders were executed.
We have finished our 6week block of Junior Achievement with Aga and Adrian.. The coordinators invited us in to The Dock building at Grand Canal. The Dock is a design led multi disciplinary research and development hub. On Friday March 1st Sharyn Ward, currently a contestant on Ireland’s Got Talent, visited our school to sing to the children and to raise the Yellow Flag. Our Lady of Lourdes was awarded the Yellow Flag for the work we have done on valuing the cultural diversity in our school and challenging inequality and racism. Mr. Dillon brought the 5th class boys had a soccer blitz in St. Catherines yesterday. They got to the semi finals by topping their group after playing 4 games. They were very unlucky to loose the semi final on penalties. They played very well as a team. Special mention to Martin and John for great performances. Well done to all.

Emily from Cre8 came to visit Ms. Higgins’ 2nd class. All the boys and girls took part learning about plastic pollution in our seas and oceans, and what we can do to help stop this problem. They also made coffee cup turtles as part of the eco art workshop. Take a look at their art work below!

We are having a Maths week here in OLOL. Children all over the school are solving the daily maths problems and playing fun maths games.
