Well done to the 6th class boys who represented the school excellently at the Drimnagh Castle Basketball Blitz. It was the boys first tournament and the team showed great potential They were unlucky to not get a win over Richmond Barracks. We are looking forward to doing some more training after midterm break to get ready for the next tournament.
The parents council have distributed the sponsorship cards for our schools Halloween walk. All proceeds must be returned to the school with the card.
The book “trottie and the farmyard mystery” will be launched in Inchicore library on Monday October 21st from 6.30pmths book is about the adventures of a young collie dog on. A farm in the west of Ireland. It is written by a former pupil Bernice Marsh. All are welcome to attend.
We have all settled back to our school routines very well. The children are getting used to their new teachers, the teachers are getting used to their students and the junior infants are getting to grips with the longer school day. Welcome back to school everyone! We welcomed our new junior infants today and they got on great. It was great to see our other students return looking very happy. They have all grown so much during the summer. We welcomed lots of new teachers too and we wish them all well for the year ahead.
We had a fantastic day on Friday down in Bluebell participating in our school soccer blitz. It was a beautiful sunny day and some great football was played. The children all participated and were excellent in their team work. Thank you to the crew IN Bluebell for looking after us so well and for providing such a fantastic facility for us to play in.
Our Garden Club was brought to Marlay Park with Ms. Merry as a reward for all their hard work during the year. They have been very hard workers every Wednesday after school, planting, weeding, tidying and caring for our school garden. Unfortunately some children could not attend as they were away. We are running OLOLYMPICS again this year. This is a term of extra active sessions instead of sports day . It was very successful for the last two years. dawe had a lovely ceremony on Friday morning celebrating Mary and the month of May. We said some prayers and readings and sang a beautiful hymn. We invited some of the Mercy nuns who live locally and they thought that it was a lovely ceremony.
