OLOL Soccer Blitz

We had a fantastic day on Friday down in Bluebell participating in our school soccer blitz. It was a beautiful sunny day and some great football was played. The children all participated and were excellent in their team work. Thank you to the crew IN Bluebell for looking after us so well and for providing such a fantastic facility for us to play in. 

Marlay Park

Our Garden Club was brought to Marlay Park with Ms. Merry as a reward for all their hard work during the year. They have been very hard workers every Wednesday after school, planting, weeding, tidying and caring for our school garden. Unfortunately some children could not attend as they were away. We are running OLOLYMPICS again this year. This is a term of extra active sessions instead of sports day . It was very successful for the last two years. Every week each class group do a different active activity . So far we have had dance week and athletics week  in all classes . Our infants have had a GAA week . Our older children Continue Reading

May ceremony

    dawe had a lovely ceremony on Friday morning celebrating Mary and the month of May. We said some prayers and readings and sang a beautiful hymn.  We invited some of the Mercy nuns who live locally and they thought that it was a lovely ceremony.

🥕🌻Garden Club 🌼🍓

We have been very busy in our garden club. As part of the Incredible Edibles programme we are growing carrots, lettuce, chives, spinach, turnip, potatoes and strawberries. Mrs. Merry gave us some other seeds to grow as well like mangetout, broccoli, broad beans, peas, and “surprise seeds(we don’t know what it is). 4th class trip to Kilmainham jail

4th class paid a visit to Kilmainham jail on Friday last. They had a very informative tour of the jail and they were all fascinated by its history.  They visited the chapel where Thomas Clarke married G race Giffor d before his execution, they visit the stone breakers yard, they saw some cells and saw where the 1916 leaders were executed.      

5th class trip to ‘The Dock’ with Junior Achievement.

We have finished our 6week block of Junior Achievement with Aga and Adrian.. The coordinators invited us in to The Dock building at Grand Canal. The Dock is a design led multi disciplinary research and development hub. Yellow flag celebration

  On Friday March 1st Sharyn Ward, currently a contestant on Ireland’s Got Talent, visited our school to sing to the children and to raise the Yellow Flag. Our Lady of Lourdes was awarded the Yellow Flag for the work we have done on valuing the cultural diversity in our school and challenging inequality and racism. 5th class boys soccer blitz

Mr. Dillon brought the 5th class boys had a soccer blitz in St. Catherines yesterday. They got to the semi finals by topping their group after playing 4 games. They were very unlucky to loose the semi final on penalties. They played very well as a team. Special mention to Martin and John for great performances. Well done to all.
