We had a busy day in Garden Club last week, We got new raised beds and we helped Tony put them in place and fill them with compost. We then planted some brocolli seedlings in them. Glasnevin Trust have invited us to the raising of the headstone for Eugene Lynch in Goldenbridge next Friday 23rd March at 10.30. Eugene Lynch was a child killed in the 1916 rising. He lived in Vincent St West and is buried in an unmarked grave over in Goldenbridge Cemetry. In 2016 we participated in a service of remembrance for him lead by Joe Duffy form RTE. Continue Reading

The Garden Club resumed their work today after a winter break. We began by surveying the area and checking on what new growth we could see and we made a list of jobs beeding to be done. We are so lucky to work closely with Richmond Barracks, as through our work with them last year and with some support from Dublin city council, our school has won a large grant to continue our work on the ‘Stories from the Garrison’ project. Mr. Dillons class will be working on it for around 22 weeks adn we look forward to hearing all about it.
The Diversity Committee have come up with the wonderful idea of learning Hello, Goodbye & Thank You in a variety of languages. We are going to start with Romanian for the remainder of January. We will host our annual Grandparents Day breakfast next Wednesday in the Parents Room. This is always a lovely occasion for children and their grandparents. Grandparents are such an important part of our children lives and they shape their lives in many ways growing up.
