NCAD/IMMA and 5th Class

Miss Barton’s fifth class are taking part in The Freud Project. NCAD have collaborated with the Irish Museum of Modern art. Ten primary schools are taking part. This project will conclude with a visit to the National College of Art and Design in June, to showcase the children’s work. Here are some images of the journey so far 🙂

Creativity in the Classroom

We were very pleased to have had the wonderful artist Deirdre in with us for Creativity in the classroom. We explored using lots of different materials. we sketched, painted, constructed and even did some blind drawings. Thank you to the parents who joined in our parent session. Miss Barton

Green School Action day for Biodiversity

Our Lady of Lourdes NS has four Green School Flags and this year with a big helping hand from the Gardening Club and Green Team members we are receiving the 5th flag for Biodiversity. 5th Class Attend the Fighting Words Workshop

Miss Barton’s fifth class attended a story writing workshop. The creative centre was developed by Roddy Doyle and Sean Love. Children brainstormed ideas with the help of real authors and had their ideas illustrated by professional illustrators. They had their pictures taken and the ending to the whole story was their own.
