We really enjoyed our trip to the Botanical Gardens. We got to see lots of amazing sculptures and nature. The children wrote a letter and sent it home to tell you all about it. It’s on its way in the post!
3rd class have been taking part in the ‘Creativity in the Classroom’ workshop and were working with clay in groups to create a zoo, jungle and circus.
Miss Barton’s fifth class are taking part in The Freud Project. NCAD have collaborated with the Irish Museum of Modern art. Ten primary schools are taking part. This project will conclude with a visit to the National College of Art and Design in June, to showcase the children’s work. Here are some images of the journey so far 🙂
The Inchicore College put on a fabulous show based on disney characters. 5th Class found the show very funny and look forward to next years show!
We were very pleased to have had the wonderful artist Deirdre in with us for Creativity in the classroom. We explored using lots of different materials. we sketched, painted, constructed and even did some blind drawings. Thank you to the parents who joined in our parent session. Miss Barton

Our Lady of Lourdes NS has four Green School Flags and this year with a big helping hand from the Gardening Club and Green Team members we are receiving the 5th flag for Biodiversity. Miss Barton’s fifth class attended a story writing workshop. The creative centre was developed by Roddy Doyle and Sean Love. Children brainstormed ideas with the help of real authors and had their ideas illustrated by professional illustrators. They had their pictures taken and the ending to the whole story was their own.
