We have been working very hard in first class since we came back to school after the Christmas break.
In our English writing workshops we were focussing on poetry. We learned what smilies are and what is meant by onomatopoeia. We had great fun learning a poem by Spike Milligan called ‘On the ning nang ning’.
We also learned about the life of the famous antartic explorer Tom Crean in our history lessons. We learned about his early life growing up in Annauscaul in Kerry before joining the Navy which was where he met some officers that travelled with him on his expeditions.
We learned that penguins live in the Antarctic so we made penguins using clay. Tony was a big help creating our penguins and we loved having him in our class for an afternoon.
