“We are ready to Bloom”.

The garden club are going to Bloom Garden Festival on Friday. We have created a little display to draw attention to some of the work we do. At the moment we are growing; potatoes,tomatoes,courgettes,pumpkins,broad beans and peas, lettuce,onions,garlic and Brussels sprouts. Summer Fun

We have had a wonderful few days in Our Lady of lourdes ns. The weather has been spectacular and we made the most of it. Teachers brought their classes for lessons outside, there were fun sports activities,Art lessons and weekend and some classes even enjoyed  ice cream.  Hopefully we will get some more warm weather in June.

Green School Flag

Ms. Barton and Ms.Merry went to the Helix with 2 Gabriel from our Green School Committee and Nazirah from our Gardent Club. They attended the FLAG ceremony where we were presented with our 5th Green Flag for Biodiversity. We worked very hard all year making sure our school was a welcome place for birds and mini-beasts. Communion 2017

Congratulations to the 2nd class children who made their First Holy Communion on Saturday. The ceremony was beautiful and the children made the school and their families so proud. They looked lovely on their special day.

Bug hunters in senior infants

The children in Room 6 had a great time over the past few days searching for and identifying minibeasts around our schoolady.  Armed with magnifying glasses and pooters they searched leaves, under stones and logs for ants, ladybirds, worms etc. We saw some butterflies,ladybirds and even a “real life dragonfly “. NCAD/IMMA and 5th Class

Miss Barton’s fifth class are taking part in The Freud Project. NCAD have collaborated with the Irish Museum of Modern art. Ten primary schools are taking part. This project will conclude with a visit to the National College of Art and Design in June, to showcase the children’s work. Here are some images of the journey so far 🙂
